Apple fans will be disappointed with the offers announced by the Cupertino-based tech giant for Black Friday, this year. In fact, Apple has not come up with any direct discounts on its products but is offering vouchers.
A minute perusal of the deals on offer on an Australian online store clearly shows that Apple has no discounts for the latest iPhone entries or Retina Mini. In fact, these products appear with their regular prices, reports itproportal.com. The more disappointing fact is that the gift vouchers , which are up for grabs can be availed in certain regions only.
As of now, the offers are live in a few European countries like U.K., Germany and France alongside Australia.
According to the offers, as published on the Australian online store, on purchasing the selective Mac products from Apple, (MacBook Pro, MacBook Air, or iMac), the buyer can grab a gift voucher worth $137.
There are offers on iPads too, albeit not as good as the ones on Mac products. The iPad Air buyers can avail a gift voucher worth $68 and other two iPad Mini an iPad 2 will be accompanied by an Apple store gift card worth $50.
For the music lovers the iPod Touch comes with the same offer as on iPad Mini but it is slightly low on iPod Nano with a redeemable discount worth $25. The same discount will also be offered across all Apple TV products.
The gift cards from Apple are also viable for third party apps offered by the company like Olloclip, Parrot AR.Drone, the Fitbit Flex, and Beats headphones.
The offers have been slightly tweaked for the UK buyers, reveals a recent post on The Verge. On selective Mac products a gift voucher worth $132 can be availed whereas on the iPods there is a minimal discount of 10 percent. The iPad discounts start from $31.
These deals are not offers as such but an initiative on Apple's end to clear up its old stocks, say tech sources. Moreover, the gift vouchers will compel the shoppers to revisit the stores in order to redeem the vouchers, a move adopted by all retailers.
