Gionee, the Chinese phone maker has announced a latest addition to its Elife lineup, the Elife E7, packed with highly impressive features that leading smartphone makers are yet to debut such as the 16-megapixel rear-facing camera and 8-megapixels on the front.
Gionee, the Chinese smartphone maker, announced Thursday a successor to its Elife E6 model, the Elife E7, which is now the company's flagship smartphone. The phone maker claims the latest smartphone to be the world's best Android camera phone. Elife E7 sports the latest technology and high-end features, right from its camera to the processor. Gionee has pushed the high-end smartphone standard to the next level and is challenging leading smartphone companies like Samsung to follow the trail.
Most of us may not have heard of the Gionee brand but the company has high ambitions of making a global impression. The latest Elife E7 packs impressive features including the most sensitive 16-megapixel rear-facing camera, which is rumored to debut in Samsung's next iteration. Moreover, the camera satisfies your need for taking great selfies with an 8-megapixel shooter, which has 1.4µm sensor similar to iPhone 5's main camera.
The fun doesn't end here, the Elife E7 is powered by a 2.2GHz quad-core Krait 400 processor on a Snapdragon 800 chipset while the 4G LTE version introduces the world to 2.5 GHz Krait 400 CPU in a smartphone. The RAM varies based on the storage capacity consumers choose, the 16GB variant comes with 2GB RAM and the 32GB is equipped with 3GB RAM.
Although the flagship smartphone runs Android 4.2 Jelly Bean, it is still unique with Gionee's Amigo 2.0 UI, which offers extreme customization options for users. The 5.5-inch 1080p display with 1920 x 1080 screen resolution and 401 pixels-per-inch is protected by layer of Gorilla Glass 3 and a 2.33mm bezel.
All these features are backed up by a 2,500 mAh power non-removable batter. The Elife E7 has also taken a page from Moto X and iPhone 5S tech, offering power-saving "Sensor Hub" for voice recognition, screen gestures and screen taps (two taps on the screen will wake up your phone).
Gionee offers shiny texture on the back cover with a range of seven bright colors including black, white, blue, pink, green, yellow and orange, giving a taste of what Apple offered in its iPhone 5C. All these incredible features are not going to dig a huge hole in your pocket. The 16GB variant is priced at 2,699 Yuan (about $443), while the 32 GB model retails for 3,199 Yuan (about $525). The phone will make its entry in the global market early next year.
