New Tinder-Like Dating App For People Who Love The Gym

If you're someone who's super into fitness and has tried Tinder, Bumble and all the other crazy dating apps out there, but still haven't found your gym-addict soul mate, then Sweatt is probably the perfect dating app for you.

Sweatt matches fitness fanatics based on not only their love for the gym, but how often they work out, when they work out, what their favorite classes and workouts are and even what diet or clean eating habits they're committed to. Since fitness is a lifestyle for many people, Sweatt allows people to find others who share that dedication and connection.

The developers say they created Sweatt because they "believe that great dates and great relationships start with strong, motivated, confident people."

The app also allows users to upload five full-size profile pictures so they can really show off their abs, gym selfies, flexibility and awesome action shots. Creator Dan Ilani wants to make sure people understand that this isn't a "hookup app," despite the heavy emphasis that's put on the photos.

"We believe that you should actually be able to see the people you've matched with," the developers continued. "No more tiny thumbnails and long lists of names instead a beautiful feed with big photos of those you've liked and have liked back. Each photo fills the screen and makes the experience of meeting for the first time special again."

While the app does encourage users to search for partners based on how many hours a week they spend in the gym and which activity is their favorite and primary choice of workout, this doesn't necessarily mean crossfit addicts will only go on dates with other crossfit addicts. Someone who favors crossfit could end up matching with a laid-back yoga lover simply because they share the same priorities, goals and determination when it comes to health and fitness.

The new app is similar to popular dating apps like Tinder because users do still have the option to write a short profile, and the app does take basic facts, like age, gender, sexual orientation and location, into account. It also follows the swipe left or right function that Tinder made popular, although matches will expire after 21 days of inactivity.

Sweatt is currently available for download in the Apple App Store and is coming to Android soon.
