Ben Higgins, the hunky Season 20 star of ABC's hit reality TV dating competition series "The Bachelor," just chose his final two bachelorettes on this week's episode. Now that he has eliminated contestant Caila Quinn, Higgins has to decide between contestants JoJo Fletcher and Lauren Bushnell, and he dropped a major bombshell in his "Good Morning America" interview - Higgins is engaged to one of the remaining ladies!
Higgins, 27, announced his engagement this morning, just hours after the controversial episode in which he sent Quinn, 24, home, and broke a franchise rule when he professed his love for both Fletcher and Bushnell - a move that show host Chris Harrison warned against.
"Do not tell two women at the same time you love them," Hansen said in the segment. "It's not going to end well."
Higgins whisked Quinn, Fletcher and Bushnell away to a romantic vacation in Jamaica during the episode, where the ladies each enjoyed one-on-one time with him. All three ladies professed their love for Higgins. After Quinn told Higgins she loved him, he realized he could not respond because he did not feel the same way. He decided to send Quinn home, wondering if he had made a mistake. Ultimately, Quinn was dismissed, sobbing in an emotional good-bye, but she said there are no hard feelings between her and Higgins.
"I have no regrets whatsoever," Quinn said. "I fell in love and it really does hurt me that he didn't, but I can't help that."
Even though Quinn didn't find love on "The Bachelor," there's still hope for Fletcher and Bushnell. Higgins, who experienced rejection during Kaitlyn Bristowe's season of "The Bachelorette," had some exciting news to share about his current relationship status with the lucky Season 20 winner.
"I am engaged. I can say that? I haven't said that in an interview yet," Higgins said while smiling. "You don't know how much stress and weight that is to carry on you for so long 'cause it is emotional. Yes, 'Good Morning America,' I am engaged. Yes, finally."
The identity of the lucky lady will be revealed on the Season 20 finale of "The Bachelor," airing Monday, March 14, at 8 p.m. EST on ABC.
