The much-awaited Sony Playstation 4, which was launched in U.K, is almost sold out on its first day.
The newest game console PlayStation 4 was successfully launched at midnight and as of the moment, its display shelves are starting to clear out.
A spokesperson for Sony UK, told BBC News, “We are starting to sell out - very rapidly but [we] will continue to work with all parts of the supply chain including our partners at retail to get more, as and when we can.”
Since there has been a great demand for the console, the company considers putting up a stock-tracker website that will aid customers get hold of “those elusive units.”
As the Yuletide season draws nearer, there are a great number of gamers dreaming to get hold of game console PS4 and the midnight launch, which happens to be a first-come first-served basis, was considered one of the only ways to grab one before the holiday season.
Amazon.com which offered pre-orders of the gaming console as early as August will start delivering the units on the release date. However, for those who placed orders after November 13 will have no choice but to wait until after Christmas to get hold of it, the company said.
For the meantime, Sony has warned buyers on online scams offering cheaper PS4s and those claiming they still have stocks.
Andrew House, the chief executive of Sony's computer entertainment division, told BBC News, “We are trying to create a much more social and connected feeling. The whole goal of PlayStation 4 is to connect people via play, in a way that they maybe have not had before.”
The launch of PS4 in the U.K came after a couple of weeks after its launch in the U.S and just a week after Xbox One’s launch around the world.
