The Originals CW: Will Klaus' Life Ever Be Threatened?; A Review Near the Middle of the Season

"The Originals" has been arguably the CW's best show and for good reason. We can start with the fact it came in with three, possibly four, characters fans already fell in love with. Also, if we're being honest with ourselves, vampires are sort of hot right now and The CW does vampires the best.

The way roles have changed this seasons on the show has been one of the factors that have made the show great. At one point you may view Klaus as a dangerous villain who must be stopped. At another point you may view him as a tragic character who just needs some compassion. The interchanging of roles for Marcel, Sophie, Rebekah, Hayley, and Klaus (Elijah seems to be the only person who remains a good guy for the most part) has provided a chance for fans to pick sides amongst the characters rather than having one person for fans to root against.

As a commenter suggested in one of my previous articles, the show is going to need a real big bad soon. While the interchanging of roles is nice, pretty soon fans are going to get tired of the in-fighting between the siblings. Also, without a credible threat to Klaus' life - as in he has the fear - then every threat that's may have fans anxious for all of 30 seconds before they remember, "Oh yeah, he can't die. Klaus is going to kill [insert opponent here]." Let's see what the writers/producers add.

"The Originals" airs Tuesdays at 8/7c on The CW.
