Pakistan won the first two ODIs; the first by 23 runs and the second by 1 run. Anwar Ali won the Man of the Match in the first ODI, and Ahmed Shehzad won the honors in the second ODI. Shehzad carried the Pakistani batsmen with 102 scored runs. On the bowling front, Junaid Khan turned in a great performance and took three wickets and Shahid Afridi took two.
Several of South Africa's batters played well, but they were no match for Shehzad's offensive performance. Hashim Amla carried the top of the order with 98 runs, skipper AB de Villiers assisted with 74 runs and Quinton de Kock added 47 runs.
Dale Steyn provided the best bowling on the pitch with a game-high six wickets taken. Ryan McLaren and Imran Tahir each took one wicket apiece.
