Samsung has barely finished with the launch of Galaxy Grand 2 and it is already rumored to be working on another mid range Grand device slated for an early 2014 release.
Samsung came up with the Galaxy Grand 2 last week, but it seems like the South Korean tech giant is in a mood to expand its Grand family. Samsung is reportedly working on a new device, Galaxy Grand Lite, expected to release at the Mobile World Congress, Barcelona, in February.
A recent Sammobile post reveals that the features will be somewhere between the previous two Grand entries, Galaxy Grand and Galaxy Grand 2. The Grand Lite is a mid-range phone with a few high-end features but will hopefully come with an affordable price tag.
The device is expected to have a 5-inch WVGA display powered by 1.2Ghz quad-core processor. It will have 1GB RAM with an external 8 GB expandable memory. The Grand Lite is likely to have a 5 megapixel rear camera and a VGA front camera with similar specs and a 2100mah battery. An additional dual sim feature will be available primarily for the mid range market that includes South Asian countries like India, China and so forth.
The device is expected to run on Android 4.2 but will be soon be upgraded to 4.3. Samsung Galaxy Grand Lite will be available in a wide range of color options like- Midnight Black and Orange apart from the monochromatic black and white.
Galaxy Grand Lite can be cited as a smart move on Samsung's part to attract the mid spectrum consumers.
Alongside the new Grand device Samsung is also gearing up to release a Smart TV by mid 2014. It will be a LED TV from Samsung featuring quad-core processor to be complemented by a real 240Hz panel, reports hdtvtest.
