AllCast Beta has landed on Google Play Store allowing users to stream or send content from Android devices to a range of supported devices, including Apple TV, Roku boxes, Xbox 360, Xbox One and all DLNA supported products. But the catch is you must join the Google+ community.
AllCast Beta 7 was surprisingly pulled down Sunday December 1, but for all good reasons. Developer Koushik Dutta of ClockworkMod replaced the test model with AllCast Beta, available for a wider audience. The app can be downloaded by users to test out the latest added features as a part of an upgrade.
In the latest AllCast Beta app for Android devices, users can stream or send locally stored videos to a number of supported devices. The support has been extended to the Roku boxes, Apple TV, Xbox 360 and Xbox One, as well as Samsung and Panasonic Smart TVs. Even if users do not have these supported devices, AllCast Beta lets them share content to other DLNA (Digital Living Network Alliance) rendering devices.
Just like its predecessor, the AllCast Beta is a self-destructing app that will end in a few days. The developers will then release a newer version, which in this case should be the final version for all users.
Moreover, with the AllCast Beta app, users need not root their device. The app is available for download free of charge, but users need to first join ClockworkMod Beta Testers' Google+ community. After joining, this link will directly take you to the Google Play page to install the app on your Android device.
