Scotland will take on Afghanistan in the second match of the International Cricket Council (ICC) T20 World Cup 2016 at Vidarbha Cricket Association Ground in Nagpur on Tuesday.
The ICC T20 World Cup, also referred to as World T20, is set to start on Tuesday March 8. The sixth edition of the world T20 championship will be held in India. Eight top-ranking teams - India, Australia, South Africa, England, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, New Zealand and West Indies - have already booked their places in Super10, while eight other teams - Bangladesh, Afghanistan, Oman, Zimbabwe, Hong Kong, Nepal, Netherlands and Ireland - will play each other in a qualifying round from March 8 to 13. Two teams out of eight will make a place in the Super10.

Afghanistan recently won a T20 series against Zimbabwe and Oman. The Afghans also started the World T20 campaign on a winning note as they defeated the Netherlands by 16 runs in an official warm-up game last week.
"Playing a few matches before this game helped us to go easy in this match. We played as per our coach's expectations. Such matches are essential to play and gain confidence. The side played well but we need to improve a bit more in the bowling department," Afghan skipper Asghar Stanikzai said.
Scotland, which never won a game in its past two World T20 appearances, succeeded in qualifying for the 2016 World Cup. Coach Grant Bradburn said that his side can beat Afghanistan, Hong Kong and Zimbabwe to advance in the main round of the tournament.
"We are not dwelling too much in the past and focusing firmly on the present instead. Clearly, our first aim will be to go beyond the qualifier round. We know two of our opponents in the group, Afghanistan and Hong Kong, quite well, and respect them as strong fellow associate sides. But at the same time, having played them often in the past, we are confident we can beat them if we put our best foot forward in the park," Bradburn said.
