Tech giants are increasingly using ads to take potshots at rivals' technologies and products and Amazon is the latest addition in this amusing venture. The online retailing giant has come up with an ad mocking the latest tablet, iPad Air from Apple.
Amazon has used a voice similar to that of John Ive, who designed the iPad Air, to make the ad more convincing.
The ad constantly disses the iPad Air's less than amazing features and plays up how good Amazon's latest tablet, Kindle Fire HDX is with far more superior features compared to Air. As the ad says the Kindle HDX weighs 20 percent less and has got better resolution compared to iPad Air, reports ubergizmo.
The ad pushes the price point as Amazon tablets come way cheaper compared to the Apple iPad Air.
iPad Air is doing quite well in the market since its release last month and who does not want to take over its potential rival to have a better share of the market.
"The iPad Air is the gold standard of tablets at the moment," said Rob Enderle, the principal tech analyst of Enderle Group, reports ABC news."It sets the overall trend and so challengers by nature will want to compare themselves to it."
Recently, Microsoft also came up with ads and merchandise making fun of both Samsung and Apple products. But as always do not go by the hype, use your discretion and enjoy the tech ad wars.
