Though arguably not as strong last week's "Star Wars Battlefront" deals, this week's deals still aim to please, and the notable offering this time around is the generally well-received episodic graphic adventure "Life is Strange." Though the game certainly won't be everyone's cup of tea due to the type of game it is, those not adverse to the genre should definitely pick it up.
The story is told in five parts and follows the story of a girl named Maxine Caulfield who has the ability to travel through time. As the story progresses, she learns more about herself, her powers and the people around her, with the story reaching a conclusion in its fifth episode. Reviews of the game have been favorable and though it had a somewhat rocky start, impressions of the game progressively improved as the episodes went along.
Much to joy of fans, a developer at Dontnod Entertainment, the studio behind "Life is Strange," confirmed that a follow-up to the game is already in development. It was noted however, that the second season would likely include a new cast characters.
"We can really go with other characters, other locations, but still keep the identity of the game, the themes of the game," one of the developers said.
"Life is Strange" and all the other games offered through the coming week are valid only for Gold subscribers.
