Blake Shelton Announces New Album ‘If I’m Honest’ [AUDIO]

Following the release of his new ballad "Came Here to Forget," country singer Blake Shelton announced the name of his next studio album: "If I'm Honest." The album will be the first full album the singer has released since he and ex-wife Miranda Lambert divorced and he entered into a new relationship with Gwen Stefani.

Earlier today, "The Voice" judge released an extremely personal song called "Came Here to Forget." In the song, Shelton hints that it is about current flame Stefani, who went through a divorce at the same time he did.

"Girl you gettin' over him, and I'm gettin' over her," Shelton sings. "Misery loves company, that's why it's you and me. Buying each other drinks, back at the bar, thick as thieves. Stealing these little sips. Doing our best to make the best of the worst of it."

"[The song is] an intimate snapshot of a couple's encounter at a bar," Shelton said. "I've had a lot of music over the years, but I don't think I've ever had a song that's such a direct look into my life. That's why I'm so excited about this particular song."

"Came Here to Forget" is the first single from Shelton's new album "If I'm Honest," which is due out in May. This will be the singer's 12th studio album and his first since "Bringing Back the Sunshine," which was released in September 2014. When his previous album was released, it topped the Billboard 200 chart and had four singles off of it hit No. 1. When the album announcement was made, Shelton revealed that he has not been so excited about an album since the release of his second record, "The Dreamer," in 2003.

"I've written more than I've written in 15 years, for obvious reasons... I'm doing what I'm supposed to do, and that's put all I've gone through and put it into music, and I never felt more connected to a record before," Shelton previously explained about his new record. "When people hear this record, they may not know what happened to me, but they're gonna know how I felt about it. And that's exciting for me, to just lay it out there for people."

Shelton's album "If I'm Honest" comes out May 20. The first single "Came Here to Forget" is available to listen to below.
