Kim Kardashian already has millions of followers on social media sites like Instagram and Twitter, but the "Keeping Up with the Kardashians" star is not stopping there. In the middle of her nude selfies scandal, the reality star announced the she officially joined Snapchat after teasing an account for months.
The mother of two announced to her 62.9 million Instagram followers that she finally joined Snapchat and that her user name was "KimKardashian." The first picture Kardashian posted to her new social media account was a picture of her and her older sister Kourtney Kardashian along with the caption "My very first snap!"
She also informed all of her Twitter followers there was a new way to keep up with her. "Snapchat alert! I'm finally on!" she wrote.
Kim is not the first of the Kardashian/Jenner bunch to join Snapchat. Kim's youngest sister Kylie Jenner is already the so-called "Queen of Snapchat" and currently has the most viewed account on the app.
Kim joining Snapchat comes just one day after she was ridiculed by people such as Bette Midler, Chloe Grace Moretz and most recently Pink. It all started on Monday when posted a scandalous throwback nude picture that left little to the imagination. She censored the first selfies with two strategically placed black bars.
"When you're like I have nothing to wear LOL," Kardashian captioned the selfie she shared with her 60 million followers.
A day later, the "Keeping Up with the Kardashians" star hot back at her critics by posting yet another nude selfie with the hashtag "liberated."
Kim later took to her blog to defend her naked selfies and said that she felt "empowered" by taking off her clothes and that she was proud of her body.
"I don't do drugs, I hardly drink, I've never committed a crime-and yet I'm a bad role model for being proud of my body?" Kardashian wrote.
"I am empowered by my body. I am empowered by my sexuality. I am empowered by feeling comfortable in my skin," she continued. "I am empowered by showing the world my flaws and not being afraid of what anyone is going to say about me. And I hope that through this platform I have been given, I can encourage the same empowerment for girls and women all over the world."
