National Meatball Day: Make Dinner A Little Meatier Today With One Of These 7 Recipes

It's National Meatball Day! Today is the day to indulge in these little balls of savory heaven, be they bite-size, jumbo, in sauce, plain, in soup, on a sub, or however else it might occur to you to eat them.

We've got seven great recipes for you if you want to celebrate National Meatball Day at dinner tonight. They're all comforting and packed with flavor, and you'll find yourself coming back to them for an easy weeknight dinner, even when it's not National Meatball Day. Give one of them a try tonight, and make sure to have some good bread nearby to dip in the sauces and make mini meatball sandwiches.

Italian Wedding Soup. This delicious, hearty soup is chicken broth-based and has tiny little balls of pasta and little meatballs that float tantalizingly on the surface. Parmesan, onion, garlic and spinach add to the delicious flavor of the soup.

Ikea Swedish Meatballs. If you've been to Ikea, chances are you've tried (and loved!) their Swedish meatballs. Served in a super-flavorful gravy and with lingonberry sauce on the side, they're amazing served with fries or over egg noodles.

Baked Meatballs with Tomato Sauce and Mozzarella. This dish is best when made with homemade tomato sauce, where the meatballs will bake and simmer and live covered in gooey mozzarella. It's great over pasta, of course, but goes very well with roasted veggies or bread.

Cheddar Biscuit Meatball Poppers. A decadent and delicious appetizer, this recipe envelops meatballs in crescent roll dough with cheddar on top to make for a truly addictive dish.

Sweet and Sour Asian Meatballs. If you feel like meatballs but don't feel like going the red-sauce-route, make some rice and stir-fried veggies and serve with these amazing meatballs. We recommend adding red chili paste to the sauce as well.

Mozzarella-Stuffed Turkey Meatballs. Mozzarella and meatballs are made for each other. These are a little time-consuming, but they'll be adored by anyone who eats them. Plus, turkey meat makes them leaner than their pork and beef cousins.

Moroccan Lamb Lemon-Cardamom Meatballs. Another alternative to Italian-American meatball lovin', this beautiful dish is full of herbs, spices and aromatics that go perfectly with the lamb, feta cheese and the tahini sauce that's poured all over it.
