Google is offering a one- time swap for early Glass adopters replacing the old headsets with a newer one.
The search engine giant is offering explorers a new version of the Glass for free in exchange for the old one. The offer is open to all explorers who have ordered the Glass before October 28, 2013 and it will be open till February 5, 2014.
The new Glass has improved features compared to the previous one and acts faster. The improvements have been made following feedback from the early adopters, reveals a recent post Knowyourmobile. "We are always improving the software based on Explorers' feedback, and this time, we've made some improvements to the hardware," said Google in a statement.
The newer version is more durable and expected to jell better with the other recent accessories offered on the Glass like mono ear-buds, prescription lenses and sunglass attachment shades.
The headsets will be given to the Glass owners on first come first serve basis and will come with one year of extended guarantee, reports CNet.
The search engine giant is not clear about what the company intends to do with the replaced headsets. An email statement reveals, "We get that you might be a little sad to part with your Glass; you've been through a lot together. So, we're going to make sure that your old Glass is duly honored when you send it back. Stay tuned."
The explorers will be able to download the official Play Music app in the new headset.
