Wedding bells will be ringing soon for R&B singer Ciara Harris and her NFL star boyfriend Russell Wilson. The couple took to social media earlier today to announced their recent engagement, sharing the great news in a series of photos and video messages on Instagram.
Wilson, 27 and Harris, 30, started dating last April and have been very open about their joint decision to abstain from sex for religious reasons. Things have been going great for the couple and Harris even introduced the Seattle Seahawks quarterback to her 21-month-old son Future Zahir, whom she shares with her rapper ex-fiancé Future. Just one month before the couple's one year anniversary, Wilson took his relationship to the next level and popped the question.
"She said yes," Wilson announced in the short video clip posted to both his and Harris' Instagram pages. The camera panned over to Harris, who smiled widely and released a shrill squeal of excitement as she raised her left hand up to the camera to show off her huge engagement ring.
"Yeah, making this thing happen. My baby," Wilson told the camera.
"Yay, I'm so excited," Harris told the camera. "God is so good."
"All the time," Wilson agreed.
In his caption for the video, Wilson wrote, "Since Day 1 I knew you were the one. No Greater feeling... #TrueLove."
For her caption, Harris wrote, "I'm So Grateful For You @DangRussWilson. You Are Truly Heaven Sent, and I'm Looking Forward To Spending Forever With You."
Judging from the background items in the clip, Wilson proposed to his new fiancée during a romantic candlelit dinner on the beach, complete with a bottle of champagne, champagne glasses and a fruit plate set up on the sand in a small wooden tray.
Harris posted the same video to her Instagram page and followed it up with a photo taken of the couple just as Wilson proposed. In the shot, Wilson is down on one knee, kissing his future wife's left hand as the sun sets on the beach. Harris wore a black, long-sleeved beach coverup with a bright floral print and her long hair in a braid. She smiled as she looked down at her new fiancé.
"I Feel Complete," the "1, 2 Step" singer wrote in the caption.
