Oman, which registered a surprise two-wicket win over Ireland in their opening match of qualifying round, is now looking to continue its winning run. "Bangladesh is a strong side but we are confident of giving our best," Oman skipper Sultan Ahmed said.
Bangladesh, on the other hand, also started its World T20 campaign with a narrow victory against ICC associate nation the Netherlands. Bangladesh's second Group A encounter against Ireland was abandoned due to rain.
Skipper Mashrafe Mortaza said that his side was ready to take on Oman in the must-win encounter.
"Certainly, it is a big pressure game for us and I want all our players to contribute, especially the batsmen and bowlers. I know Oman are a good side and full of determination. They will be all pumped up after the victory against Ireland," he said on Saturday.
Afghanistan defeated Zimbabwe in their third and last qualifying match of the Group B on Saturday at Nagpur and sealed a spot in the Super10 of the Twenty20 World Cup. Batting first, Afghanistan made 186 for six in 20 overs. Zimbabwe, in reply, was all out for 127 in 20th over.
