Keri Russell's Brooklyn Residence Burgled, NYPD Claims Actress Was Sleeping When Intruders Broke In

Actress Keri Russell was sleeping in her Brooklyn Heights home when she heard shuffling footsteps and muffled conversation upstairs that shook her awake.

The woman best known for her role as "Felicity" rose from bed in her basement room with a jolt at about 3 a.m. Wednesday when she heard intruders in her home. New York City Police told the Associated Press that Russell, who now stars on the FX series "The Americans" tiptoed to the top floor, where she found her window and door open.

The robbers had already fled with her laptop, necklace, earrings and Filson purse in tow.

Police said the burglars entered through an unlocked window located on the first floor of the building. Russell didn't sustain any injuries.

"Everybody is fine and Keri sends her thanks to the police," a representative speaking on Russell's behalf told the New York Daily News.

About two hours later, police cuffed uncle and nephew Ronald Swindell, 50 and Steffon Swindell, 19, who they suspected were the robbers. They reportedly broke into another house on a nearby street after running through Russell's residence.

70-year-old neighbor Roberta Weisbrod saw the two conducting some sketchy business and alerted the authorities.

NYPD told the Daily News that the Swindells had Russell's belongings in a knapsack. Ronald has reportedly been arrested at least 20 times for burglary and other crimes. He was released from prison on Nov. 22, after he served five years for burglary and violating his parole.
