Fake IDs are nothing new, but having a fake ID of a famous person is probably not the brightest thing to do, especially if it's the president of Russia.
German-born Lucas Baier was travelling on a train through Germany when he was caught by ticket inspectors using a driver's license bearing the name and image of Vladimir Putin.
The Russian-speaking 27 year old was stopped as part of a routine check in southern Bavaria but when he gave the inspector the fake id which was immediately confiscated, according to the Telegraph.
The ID said it was done by Lativan authorities, however, when the Latvian traffic authorities, they confirmed they never issued driving license to the Russian president.
"Every licence issued in Latvia is recorded in an official register and has a unique number," they said.
