Derrick Rose spoke earlier today (which you can read more about here) and, depending on where you are emotionally as a Bulls fan, you were either
a. comforted by his words
b. didn't really care what he said and just want him to hurry back
c. you're skeptical and are ready to move on past D-Rose
Whatever your feelings are many Bulls fans agree that something needs to be done.
Bulls GM Gar Forman's words provided some comfort for me as a fan and I'm in total agreement with him - there's no need to panic.
The Bulls have picks and a couple pieces to trade. When D-Rose was healthy it was always my opinion the team just needed that one scoring guard. If the Bulls had went out and gotten a Monta Ellis we would have been set. This way, the D Rose could operate as a truer point guard and wouldn't have to score all the time. Also Ellis would be a nice piece if D-Rose got hurt once more. If the Bulls couldn't afford Ellis, then they should have attempted to bring back Nate Robinson or Belinelli.
With this current team I am still of the philosophy the Bulls need that one scoring guard. The Dion Waiters trade rumors were intriguing because he would be a perfect fit. However, I'm not sure giving up Deng for him would be the best idea. So my proposal would be attempting to get either Isaiah Thomas from the Kings or Goran Dragic from the Suns. If we have to give up Jimmy Butler or Carlos Boozer to do so, then so be it. The only way I see us trading Deng, is if it appears he has no plans to stay. What do you guys think?
