Hrithik Roshan and Kangana Ranaut have apparently slapped each other with legal notices over the public statements they made about their relationship.
The rumored exes have declared war against each other after Roshan sent Ranaut a 5-page legal notice accusing her of defamation and in response, the "Queen" actress filed a 21-page lawsuit, alleging that the "Bang Bang" actor is trying to intimidate and threaten her.
"Kangana being Kangana, was not going to take this lying down," the source added. "The actress retaliated with a legal notice through her lawyer Rizwan Siddiqui with a 21-page reply, charging him with intimidation and threat under sections of the Indian Penal Code."
"Hrithik told her that she should call for a press conference and render an apology to him, spelling out that she had not hinted at Hrithik Roshan as her 'silly ex.' Else he would make all her correspondence to him public," an insider revealed.
Hrithik asserts in his legal filing that Ranaut has Asperger's, which he says makes her imagine things. Ranaut fired back that her rumored ex has a mental illness of his own. Hrithik claims Ranaut was stalking him and had emailed him 50 times a day; however, her camp retaliated by saying "she is not some dim-witted teenager who has been smitten and that whatever happened between the two of them was with full consent of both the parties. It is pertinent to record that your client throughout supported my client and fully involved her; he also did not make any attempt to block her. There is no communication from him to my client objecting to any emails. This proves that he received the emails with his participation and consent"
For the uninitiated, the former couple, who have worked together in films like "Kites" and "Krrish 3," have been involved in a war of words over the last couple of months and it all started when Ranaut dropped a subtle hint in a January interview that they were in a relationship.
When asked about why Roshan replaced her with another actress on "Aashiqui 3," she said she fails to understand why "exes do silly things to get attention and for her that chapter is over and that she doesn't dig graves."
In response, Roshan took to Twitter to deny that he and Ranaut were romantically involved. "Ther r more chances of me having had an affair with d Pope dan any of d (Im sure wonderful) women d media hs ben naming. Thanks but no thanks," Roshan wrote.
Roshan's tweet didn't go down too well with Ranaut, who took another dig at the actor in an interview. "I respect the other person's opinion. It's very likely that a person can have a different perspective of the same situation or rather the past," Ranaut said. "But then, stick to your stand. Don't contradict yourself and slyly pursue people, spy on them and chase them. So, we sign and seal the deal, and then move on."
