Paris Hilton Twitter: Socialite Slams ‘Fake Tweet,’ Claims She Didn’t Confuse Nelson Mandela and Martin Luther King Jr. (SEE TWEET)

Paris Hilton is slamming a tweet that was supposedly sent from her account as "stupid" and "fake." The 32-year-old socialite took to Twitter telling her followers that she didn't post a tweet confusing Nelson Mandela and Martin Luther King Jr. and she didn't find the tweet funny.

"RIP Nelson Mandela. Your 'I Have a Dream' speech was so inspiring. An amazing man," the fake tweet read.

"Whoever made that stupid fake tweet lacks respect to the loss the world is mourning right now. Same goes for all the blogs who ran with it," Hilton tweeted in response.

She did express her condolences about Mandela's death writing "Just landed & heard the sad news about Nelson Mandela. He was a true Hero & the world is a better place because of him. May he rest in peace."

According to US Weekly, the tweet was photoshopped by @deletedtweets but the account seems to have been deleted. On Thursday, Dec. 5 the former President of South Africa died at the age of 95. He is survived by his six children, 17 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.

Mandela will be buried on Sunday, Dec. 15 in his ancestral hometown of Qunu in the Eastern Cape Province in a state funeral. Sunday has been declared as a "national day of prayer and reflection," people throughout the nation can gather in places of worship to have "prayer services and meditation reflecting on [Mandela's] life."

An official national service will be held in the First National Bank Stadium in Johannesburg on Tuesday

"What made Nelson Mandela great was precisely what made him human," current South African President Jacob Zuma said in a statement. "We saw in him what we seek in ourselves."
