Amber Rose purposely posted a racy topless photo as a way to support the "Free The Nipple" movement and announce her upcoming SlutWalk.
Just days after the 32-year-old model defended Kim Kardashian's nude photo, she took to Twitter to share a nipple-baring photo of herself from a recent shoot as a way to spread the word about her second SlutWalk.
"#freethenipple #MUVA photo by @solmazsaberi #AmberRoseSlutWalk2016," she captioned the NSFW photo. She posted it to Instagram with her nipple blurred out, but the uncensored version of the photo was posted to Twitter, where the nudity rules are not as strict.
The #FreeTheNipple campaign, which is one against "female oppression and censorship," is one that several celebrities, including Miley Cyrus and Chrissy Teigen, have supported in the past. Rose has been particularly open about the slut-shaming in the past, and last year, she decided to organize a SlutWalk as a way to stand up for what she believes in and show the world just how bad the double-standard against women really is.
"I deal with it every day. I deal with it via social media. People out on the street. They don't quite understand why I post what I post and how I speak on social media," Rose said last year. "I'm sick of it and I'm here for my girls and we're gonna do the Amber Rose Slut Walk this summer and it's gonna be awesome."
She went on to explain that she hoped the event would "bring awareness to a lot of men and women that slut-shaming, victim blaming, rape and sexual assault occur every single day." Since the event was so successful, she has decided to have it again and hopes to make it an annual thing.
When Kardashian, who is currently married to Rose's ex Kanye West, posted two nude photos earlier this month, the Internet went crazy and started slut-shaming her, but Rose quickly came to her defense.
"@kimkardashian I don't know u well but I saw u speak about slut shaming and as u know I'm an activist feminist so it spoke to me," Rose captioned one of Kardashian's naked pictures. "Being slut shamed and ridiculed is not fun it's hurtful and mean. Us women deal with it everyday and I'm happy u can speak openly on this now because if anyone knows what it's like to be Slut Shamed it's u! Live it Kim! Make a difference and speak on it! Not only when it's convenient for u but when u can help others. Last year at my Slutwalk I told my slut shaming story. This year I would love for u to come and tell urs. This is an open invite from me to u and ur sisters are welcome too. Let's let the naysayers know u are so much more than a sex tape (13 years ago) f-k it own it. Ur a mom and a business woman, a wife, sister and daughter. Hope we can make this happen."
She then explained why she felt the need to defend Kardashian. "It's bullshit, and this is the thing: They come at me and Kim so hard because I was a stripper and she had a sex tape," she said in a recent interview. "So if we could sing, it would be OK if we were on stage half-naked. We all love Beyoncé, but she's on stage half-naked and twerking all the time, yet people say, oh, she has talent, so she's able to do that. We don't have the talent that Beyoncé has, so we get criticized as former sex workers, but at the end of the day we're just women-we're all women-and we should embrace each other. No one is greater. We're all the same. So, to criticize us as incapable of being smart businesswomen because Kim has a reality show and I'm a socialite and we don't sing, is stupid."
