There is nothing the Internet loves more than a good optical illusion. The latest viral picture making it's way around asks a simple question: How many girls are in this picture?
The entire debate started when Swiss photographer Tiziana Vergari posted a picture to her Instagram account for an Instagram art project. Vergari put the picture up a week ago and it has already been liked over 14,400 times and has 1,200 comments. The picture showed an unknown number of girls dressed in identical grey dresses and seated next to each other.
The entire comment section of the photograph has people debating on the number of girls in the picture, which is hard to tell due to lighting and the mirror the girls are sitting in front of. Are there two girls? Are there three? Four?
Same but different | My entry #whpidentity for @instagram [thank you #instagram for this featuring]," the photographer captioned her optical illusion picture.
The general consensus among the people in the comments section of the picture is that are only two girls in the picture, but some passionate commenters maintain the fact that there are at least three or quite possibly four girls in the picture.
The photographer caught wind of the debate brewing in her comments section and tried to clear up the air, but just left more of a mystery behind the picture. Vergari said that she only had two daughters, but did not fully say that there were only two girls in the picture. Even though Vergari weighed in on the picture, it did not stop people from speculating about the number of girls in the picture.
This picture of the girls is the latest optical illusion to get the blood pumping of people sitting behind their computer. Last February, the most famous Internet optical illusion known as "The Dress" went viral and had people debating over the color of a dress. Millions of people took to their Twitter accounts to discuss the dress and whether it was black and blue or white and gold. The color of the dress was finally confirmed by the designer Roman Originals that the dress was black and blue.
