Samsung Resumes Android 4.3 Update Roll-Out For International Galaxy S3 Smartphones After A Catastrophic Initial Attempt

Samsung has resumed the roll-out of Android 4.3 Jelly Bean to international Galaxy S3 smartphones, which was halted after a series of complaints from phone owners.

Samsung has learnt it the hard way. After a tragic roll-out of Android 4.3 Jelly Bean last month for Samsung Galaxy S4 and S3 models, which resulted in phone-lags, battery drainage and more, Samsung halted the update to fix the issues and bugs. The 4.3 update for AT&T Galaxy S4 smartphones was resumed earlier this week after fixing all known issues. Now, the international Galaxy S3 smartphones are getting lucky as a revised version of 4.3 Jelly Bean is currently being rolled out, reports SamMobile.

Samsung was heavily criticized for the previous attempt of Android 4.3 roll-out. Most users in the U.K. suffered various problems, including phone lags, freezing, battery drainage, Bluetooth audio playback issues in cars, delayed response, device freezing on incoming calls and Wi-Fi issues. By pushing the update to all users again means all these problems have been addressed.

The Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update to Galaxy S3 will bring Galaxy Gear support, Samsung KNOX security system, improved S Voice and few other tweaks. The user interface will be changed to match the one on Galaxy S4 and Galaxy Note 3, along with a new keyboard, new camera features, modified notification center, option move-to-SD card and others.

The update is currently available for Galaxy S3 in Austria, Croatia, Czech Republic (Vodafone), Ireland (Vodafone), Romania (Vodafone), Slovenia (Si.mobil), Switzerland (Swisscom), and the U.K. Users can manually update or check if the update is ready to download by going to Settings > About Device > Software Update.
