Microsoft Unveils Revamped Bing App For Android

Microsoft , the Redmond-based tech giant rolled out its revamped Bing app on Android earlier this week.

The modified Bing search app is not only user-friendly with a brand new interface but also includes a few other tweaks that may keep Microsoft a few steps ahead of Google in the search engine race.

The Android users on Bing can use the cool images on the search tool to set them as wallpapers on their smartphone. Scrolling to the left of the display will give easy access to other Microsoft apps like Skydrive, Xbox Live, Office 365 and a couple of others, reports GsmArena.

The redesigned Bing app will fix the earlier bugs reported in the earlier edition. The zoom in and zoom out app that was not functioning while browsing the web pages in the previous edition has been fixed.

The home screen serves all your search related functions at one go. One can add widgets to the home screen, share web pages with just a single click and also save the web pages and most frequently looked for search results as screen shots. One can also add these bookmarks and web pages on Skydrive, the cloud storage service offered by Microsoft.

The update is already available on the Google store. The new look Bing app is to attract a lot more viewers and to resurrect Microsoft's position in mobile search engine race. Google has been leading the race throughout with Microsoft owning only 2.3-3.3 percent of the market share. But the graph showed a significant rise in June-July with Google slipping down the ladder slightly, reveals a recent post on searchengineland.
