Gwen Stefani Says She Has Never Sexted Blake Shelton: ‘What Is Sexting?’

Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton are both very busy people. Stefani released her first album in almost a decade, "This is What the Truth Feels Like," on Friday, and Shelton is gearing up for the release of his next album, "If I'm Honest," which will be released in May. Even though the couple lives hectic lives and spend a lot of time apart, Stefani has admitted that there is no sexting in their relationship.

The 46-year-old singer has been extremely open and honest while discussing her new album, which has a lot of personal songs on it, including one called "Send Me a Picture" that includes lyrics like, "Are you all alone? Baby whatcha wearing?/ Send a little something I could stare at." So how does the new couple keep their relationship alive? It is not through sending each other sexy text messages.

"I've never sexted before. What's sexting?" Stefani asked. "You can think whatever you want. That's what's so cool about all these songs, no matter how personal I get or whatever I intend the song to be."

Stefani's new album will be her most open album yet. A lot has changed since the singer last released a solo album, which was in 2006 with "The Great Escape." When she last released an album, she was still married to her ex-husband Gavin Rossdale, who she divorced seven months ago after he cheated on her with their nanny. The new album promises to be very open, as the singer said that she had nothing to hide.

"I don't feel like I have anything to be ashamed of," she said. "I've done nothing wrong. I don't feel like I have anything to protect about myself. But when you're a mother, you have to have some boundaries."

Stefani and Shelton got together right when the two were both going through a divorce, with Shelton and Miranda Lambert divorcing over the summer of 2015. The mother-of-three said that she is now just happy singing about all the good feelings she has for Shelton.

"It was the first time that I really had written a record from a different point of view of being in love and being grateful and being in a really, 'Oh my God, I got saved!' kind of place," Stefani said of her new album.

"This is What the Truth Feels Like" is out now.
