Honey, it's time for spring! On Monday morning, Starbucks announced that it was launching a brand new drink that is perfect for the spring season. On Tuesday, March 22, Starbucks will release the new Caramelized Honey Latte.
The coffee chain's new drink comes available iced, hot or as a blended Frappuccino. The flavor of the new beverage was created with the changeable nature of springtime in mind. The Caramelized Honey Latte is made from honey, put in a slow-cooker and mixed with caramel and Starbucks espresso. The drink is finished off with steamed milk and will only be available in select markets for a limited time.
"One of the things we're most excited about with Caramelized Honey Latte is how well it works both hot and iced," said Christal Canzler from Starbucks beverage development team. "It's perfect for spring weather."
"The caramel honey sauce is slowly kettle-cooked to develop a rich, caramelized flavor that stands up to our signature Starbucks espresso," Canzler continued.
The Caramelized Honey Latte will not be the only new drink on Starbucks menu for the spring, the coffee company will also bring its small-batch cold brew to more locations in the northwest and mid-Atlantic regions this spring as well as a Teavana Shaken Mango Black Tea Lemonade.
In addition to the new drinks, Starbucks will also add new food items, including a Southwest-Style Steak Wrap. The new wrap is made with grilled fajita steak tossed in a chimichurri sauce with fire roasted corn, peppers, jicama, lettuce and a black bean spread in a sweet potato tortilla, and comes with a creamy chipotle sauce and blue corn chips. There will also be new pastries hitting Starbucks across the country, like a Chocolate Marble Loaf Cake, Chocolate Chunk Muffins, Apple Fritters and Cinnamon Raisin Bagels.
While the Caramelized Honey Latte will make its Starbucks debut just in time for spring, it was not the first spring drink the coffee chain released. Last week, Starbucks announced the limited-time Pink Cherry Blossom Frappuccino. The colorful frozen drink consisted of "sweet strawberries and cream with white chocolate and matcha drizzle, topped with whipped cream and a sprinkle of matcha," but is sadly no longer available.
Don't miss the chance to try out the new Starbucks drink, the Caramelized Honey Latte, which will be available starting tomorrow, March 22.
