Just days after leaving a treatment facility in Malibu, Amanda Bynes is back at home with her parents in Thousand Oaks, Calif., and has been photographed rocking some casual yet fun outfits while out shopping with them. How is the star adjusting to life post-rehab?
Tamar Arminak, the family attorney, told E! News that the 27-year-old actress is "doing very well and re-establishing a close and loving relationship with her family" after spending nearly six months under psychiatric care, and to People magazine, added, "Amanda and her entire family would like to thank everyone who's contacted them with good thoughts and wishes for Amanda's recovery. She's feeling better every day."
On Sunday, Dec. 9, Bynes was photographed rocking a "twerk team" baseball hat and Captain America sweater while out with her parents Rick and Lynn and their dogs on a neighborhood walk. Earlier that day, the family was spotted at Costco, Bynes keeping her outfit chic yet casual in a white top, dark skinny jeans, Converse sneakers and a brown bomber jacket.
The actress's infamous Twitter has been quiet, and all signs point to her keeping a low profile while continuing to work towards her recovery. Her diagnosis remains unconfirmed despite widespread speculation over what mental illness she suffers from.
"Despite the fact Amanda is no longer in a facility, her outpatient treatment is continuing," Arminak told People. "She's very happy to reestablish the loving relationship with her family that she once shared."
Prior to her being placed on a 5150 psychiatric hold back in August, Bynes had little to contact with her parents for months, who were worried for her health and well-being. Bynes has also been ruled mentally fit to stand trial for her DUI charges from back in April 2012, her next court date set for Jan. 7, 2014.
