‘The Walking Dead’ Preview: Episode 15 ‘East’

It is with a heavy heart (preferably still in tact and not being torn apart by zombies) that I acknowledge that we are fast approaching the conclusion of the sixth season of "The Walking Dead." The show's season six penultimate (second-to-last) episode (15), titled "East," will air this Sunday on AMC, and we expect it to be a good one.

"East" will follow the fallout of a certain Alexandra Safe Zone inhabitant gone missing and the community's response. Search parties will be sent out and, as we've learned on "The Walking Dead," those kinds of initiatives never seem to end well. Eventually, the search parties break up into smaller groups, leading to even more danger for our heroes.

But "The Walking Dead," unlike its contemporary rivals such as "Breaking Bad" and "Game of Thrones," has a habit of slowing things down in their penultimate episodes. AMC appears content with using that space as a scene setter for the following finale as opposed to a scene stealing in its own right.

That doesn't appear to be the case this week.

"East" will explore the aftermath of Denise's murder at the hands of Dwight and the Saviors. It will also address Carol's decision to leave the Alexandria Safe Zone last week (and will also give viewers another a glimpse at the fan favorite couple: Richonne). These story developments will hit home with our main characters in different ways. Some will want to strike out for the Savior strong hold for revenge, and some will be more reserved in their reactions. But all of their decisions will have major consequences, especially with Negan looming ever closer.

We won't get into too many specifics right here, but if you'd like a full breakdown of episode 615, you can check out all of the spoiler details by clicking here and here.

"The Walking Dead" airs Sunday on AMC at 9 pm ET.
