The love triangle between Tara Wallace, her baby daddy Peter Gunz and his wife Amina Buddafly has stirred up all kinds of drama on VH1's hit reality TV series "Love and Hip Hop: New York." In between filming takes for the "LHHNY" reunion special (airing Monday, March 28), the Season 6 cast members each took the time to weigh in on the love triangle, giving their definition of a "side chick" and offering advice to Buddafly and Wallace.
In the interview clip, Creep Squad members Rich Dollaz and Cisco each define the term "side chick" or "side piece."
"A side chick is a chick that's cool with you having a girlfriend and just seeing her whenever you can," Creep Squad member Cisco tells the cameras.
"Main chick is the one you go home to every night, side chick is the one that you slide with," Rich Dollaz says. "But the main chick is the bread and butter."
But Gunz refuses to call neither Wallace nor Buddafly his 'side chick,' even though he is legally married to Buddafly.
"It's disrespectful to call either one of them number two, so I don't have a side chick," Gunz says. "When a man says he has a side chick, that means it's his number two. That means somebody is number one. I would never say that about Amin and Tara."
"Oh that term does not apply to me in any way, shape, form or fashion," Wallace says. "This is the man I have two children with, I spent 13 years with. We've been up and down, if I want to fall back and get that, I can."
"The definition of a side chick is somebody who is with somebody else's man and at this point, we've both done that," Buddafly says with a laugh. "So we're both side chicks."
The female rappers of the "LHHNY" cast offer some words of advice to the ladies on how to deal with their love triangle. Female rapper Sexxy Lexxy, one-half of the rap duo BBOD, advises the women that if their current arrangement makes them happy, they shouldn't worry about what other people think. Hip-hop star Remy Ma suggests Buddafly and Wallace just move on without Gunz.
"They should just get together and be a couple, just cut Peter out the whole equation totally," Remy Ma says. "They are two loyal people, cause Tara's extremely loyal to Peter and Amina is extremely loyal to him as well. So if them two got together, they would have an unbreakable bond, it would be crazy - the kids is already related. I'm telling you, it'll work."
