Tennessee Titans Scout Laremy Tunsil At Pro Day; Pick Likely Over Joey Bosa In NFL Draft?

The Tennessee Titans have the first overall pick in the NFL draft this year. The team may trade the pick, but if it stays at No. 1, it's likely that the team will pick either Laremy Tunsil or Joey Bosa with the selection.

The Titans will not be looking at the quarterback position after taking Marcus Mariota last year, taking players like Jared Goff and Carson Wentz off the board as potential targets. Some teams may consider trying to trade up with the Titans to make a selection with a quarterback, but let's assume the Titans will keep the pick. The Titans have needs all over the roster and they can truly look to take the "best player available" with the top selection.

Bosa is considered by many football experts to be the best defensive player in the draft. Butr, even though Bosa is considered a good prospect, the Titans may see Tunsil as a better option. Tennessee just traded for DeMarco Murray, and with Mariota coming into his second season, bulking up the offensive line would not be the worst idea in the world.

Draft analysts have pegged Tunsil as the best offensive lineman in the draft over Ronnie Stanley, making him a prime target for the Titans. NFL.com reports that the Titans sent a "large contingent" to the Ole Miss Pro Day to watch Tunsil. Last season Mariota played behind a porous offensive line and adding a player like Tunsil to the mix could give the Titans a franchise tackle.

Tunsil performed well at the combine last month, and his Pro Day will give teams a better chance to look at what the lineman can do. If the Titans do go with Tunsil, it's likely that the Browns will take a quarterback at No. 2. Goff came out of the college football season as the top prospect at the position, but Wentz is starting to generate some buzz and could leapfrog him in the rankings.

Wentz has met with a number of teams at his Senior Bowl and combine workouts, including the Cleveland Browns and Dallas Cowboys. Wentz played at North Dakota State and while some scouts may see that as a knock, others have cited the success of players like Tony Romo and Joe Flacco as proof that an FCS quarterback can develop into a strong NFL starter.

Either way, it all starts with the Titans.
