Borderlands 2 DLC: Third Headhunter Pack Release Date Announced For 'How Marcus Saved Mercenary Day'

Gearbox, the developer behind the popular shoot-and-loot game "Borderlands 2," has announced the release date for its third, and final, Headhunter DLC pack for 2013. "How Marcus Saved Mercenary Day" will become available for purchase and download on Dec. 17 for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Mac and PC for $2.99.

The new Headhunter pack includes a new mission as well as several unlockable heads and skins for each class of character. The first two DLC packs were holiday themed, Halloween and Thanksgiving, and "How Marcus Saved Mercenary Day" is no exception, coming as the Christmas themed DLC. According to IGN, Marcus asks you to investigate a train full of guns that's gone missing on its way to Gingerton. In order to retrieve your new treasure you'll get a chance to take on the gigantic and terrifying Mr. Tinder Snowflake, an evil snowman boss whose head you can claim for winning the fight.

Mercenary day joins "TK Baha's Bloody Harvest" and "The Horrible Hunger of the Ravenous Wattle Gobbler." Unlike these two previous DLC Headhunter packs, the unlockable heads and skins in the newest DLC contains skins and heads that are unique to each character.

While Gearbox had only promised three Headhunter DLC packs for the remainder of 2013, it hast teased more Headhunter content coming to users in 2014.
