Earlier this morning, AMC released a teaser image for "The Walking Dead" fan favorite villain from the comic book, Negan, played by Jeffrey Dean Morgan. The actor will make his long awaited TV debut as the biggest of bads this Sunday during the season six finale.
In keeping with their suspenseful promotional campaign, the teaser doesn't actually give you a glimpse of Negan's face (neither does the teaser trailer for the finale). All we get is the back of his head along with his barb wire wrapped baseball bat, which he has affectionately nicknamed Lucille. Yikes, I'm scared already.
Ever since "The Walking Dead" debuted in 2010, fans have been eagerly anticipating the arrival of Negan, the most iconic villain from the source material. Morgan officially landed the role back in November, to the delight of viewers everywhere. His eventual debut has been a catalyst for the majority of this season's action, with executive produver Gale Anne Hurd saying, "Let me put it this way. He's worth waiting for."
You can check out the teaser image below:
In the comics, Negan is the leader of The Saviors, a brutal and murderous group that adopt a mob approach in dealing with other surviving settlements. They offer other groups of people "protection" in exchange for supplies. Really, they're just a group of psychotic, bloodthirsty extortionists. In other words, they're perfect for "The Walking Dead."
"The Walking Dead" will air its season six finale this Sunday on AMC at 9 pm ET.
