Digital Storm has revealed its version of the Steam Machine gaming console from Valve. It is a black rectangle bearing a red logo and will cost those who want to purchase it $1,469.
While the console won't be officially unveiled until the Consumer Electronics Show in January, some information about the console has been released early like the Steam Machine's ability to support a range of configurations, including one capable of supporting a NVIDIA GeForce GTX Titan graphics card. It'll also be a liquid-cooled machine that is able to handle up to 700W of power supply.
According to IGN, Digital Storm's creation has slightly larger dimensions than an Xbox One though it will be able to stand vertically on its end and take up less space that way. It will also boot both Windows and the Steam OS. The Digital Storm prototype is the latest in a line of variants from late last month form iBuyPower, which provided an early look at its models.
The iBuy Steam Machines will apparently pack a multicore AMD CPU and an AMD R9 270 GPU, which will have a built-in 2GB card on AMD's Mantle architecture. This console will launch for only $500 sometime in 2014.
The Steam OS-based devices will have the ability to run any compatible games in 1080p at 60fps. iBuyPower is shooting for a 2014 release date, but we should see more at this year's CES 2014 just after the first of the year in January.
As you can tell form the photo pictured above, the Digital Storm Steam machine is black with a red accent symbol while the iBuy Power is all white with a green/red power light strip.
