Beyoncé Self-Titled Album Sells 80,000 Downloads In 3 Hours; Singer Set To Make History? (VIDEO)

Beyoncé has dropped a new "visual" album exclusively for iTunes, receiving more than 80,000 downloads in the first 3 hours of its release.

According to multiple reports, the singer is well on her way to the number one spot on the iTunes sales charts. Her album consists of 17 new tracks and each has their own respective music video.

"I didn't want to release my music the way I've done it. I am bored with that. I feel like I am able to speak directly to my fans. There's so much that gets between the music, the artist and the fans. I felt like I didn't want anybody to give the message when my record is coming out. I just want this to come out when it's ready and from me to my fans," Beyoncé explained in a video to her fans.

Her music videos feature many quest appearances, including her husband Jay Z and daughter Blue Ivy, sister Solange Knowles, Pharrell Williams, rapper Drake and her Destiny's Child bandmates Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams.

"I see music," Beyoncé added. "It's more than just what I hear. When I'm connected to something, I immediately see a visual or a series of images that are tied to a feeling or an emotion, a memory from my childhood, thoughts about life, my dreams or my fantasies. And they're all connected to the music."

The official sales numbers for the digital downloads won't be available until next week, but fans are still taking to Twitter to praise Queen Bey. The new record was a welcomed surprise to Beyoncé fans, as the singer had not confirmed nor mention she would be releasing an album this year.
