Anne Hathaway is a mom!
The 33-year-old Oscar-winning actress welcomed her first child with her husband Adam Schulman early on Thursday, March 24, in Los Angeles. The happy couple has named their baby boy Jonathan Rosebanks Schulman.
"The baby is extremely healthy and is surrounded by friends and family in L.A.," a source said. "Anne and Adam are ecstatic to be parents."
Prior to giving birth, sources had explained that this was the perfect time for the two to start a family.
"Adam has been really helpful and is so excited on the baby," the source said. "Adam and Anne are doing great as a couple and this whole baby process is a bonding experience for them both. 'One baby at a time,' she says but she would not mind another after this."
Hathaway first broke the news that she was expecting in November while she was in her second trimester. She and Schulman, 34, started dating in 2008 after meeting through mutual friends, and he proposed in November 2011. They then got married in September 2012 in Big Sur, Calif., and in that same year, she had opened up about wanting to become a mother someday.
"I want to have a family of a certain size. What size? Look, I'll start with one healthy kid, but I'd like to have a few naturally and adopt. I gotta get on it, you know?" she said at the time. "I'd like to have as many as I can afford, not just financially but in terms of time, because you want to make sure each one feels special. I've had one goal in mind for the past 12 years, which is: get a movie, get a movie, get a movie. Now I might have to say: get a baby, get a baby, get a baby!"
The "Devil Wears Prada" star started off the new year by proudly showing off her growing baby bump in a tiny red bikini.
"Happy 2016 to my beautiful Instafreinds!" she captioned the photo. "So, posting a bikini pic is a little out of character for me, but just now while I was at the beach I noticed I was being photographed. I figure if this kind of photo is going to be out in the world it should at least be an image that makes me happy (and be one that was taken with my consent. And with a filter.) Wishing you love, light and blessings for the year ahead!"
