It was a hectic scene at one casino in Billings, Mont. Three armed robbers burst into the room looking for a quick payout, and as this unfolded, one couple locked lips and kissed through the entire event.
Yes, they were crazy - for each other. They had no idea what was going on and kissed one another without a care in the world.
The incident, which was caught on camera, occurred on Monday when two men and a woman wearing bandannas and gloves stormed the Tap Inn, demanding money. Surveillance shows the bartender briefly lowering his right arm to pop open the register before putting his hands in the air, as did everyone else.
Everyone, that is, except for the amorous couple who, blissfully unaware of the incident, kept hugging and kissing. Being able to kiss through an armed robbery is one thing, but they did it right at the counter where one robber was taking the money from the register. Even more amazing is the fact that the robbers either didn't notice or simply didn't care and moved right along with their heist.
The pair surfaced just in time to watch the robbers flee with an undisclosed amount of cash. Afterward, the bartender contacted police, who are now on the lookout for the three suspects.
While the prospect of a couple kissing through a robbery is quite amusing, the robbery itself isn't, and police noted that Monday's incident was the second of three to occur within 24 hours. The first came Sunday afternoon when a man robbed Casino Royale on Central Avenue, while the third came several hours after the Tap Inn robbery when a man attempted to rob the Blue Basket convenience store in Billings Heights.
Investigators believe that several suspects are committing the crimes, but not all are connected.
"Most definitely there are common M.O.'s with at least three with some of those go as far back as last year," BPD Chief Rich St. John said.
In the meantime, police have turned to the public for help in catching the suspects related to the Tap Inn robbery and the other two. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact Crime Stoppers at 406-657-8200.
