Users are reportedly encountering problems while accessing security settings or uninstalling apps on Xperia Z Ultra, Google Play edition.
The Google iteration of Sony's flagship product, Xperia Z Ultra that released last week in the United States has many technical glitches. The bugs primarily include the inability to access the security settings and to uninstall apps.
Security setting are a necessity for smartphone users to prevent misuse of the device. But the Sony phablet, Xperia Z ultra users are facing problems accessing the feature. However, it's not clear whether the issue is widespread or limited to a few unfortunates.
The bug was first identified by JR Raphael, a tech blogger form Computer world. "This is the glitch I noticed on the Sony Xperia Z Ultra Google Play Edition. Not good," said Raphael on his Google+ page where he also posted a video about the bugs faced on the Google Play edition of Sony Xperia Z Ultra.
The other bug appears when one tries to uninstall unwanted apps. When a user tries it, an uninstall screen appears on the device with two options, Cancel and OK. On pressing OK the phablet starts rebooting, reveals a recent post on Androidcommunity.
This will surely irritate quite a number of tech savvy people who all love to play with new apps. This inability to unload apps will occupy unnecessary space in the 16GB device and the users will not able to download content of their liking.
One more bug has also surfaced on the Google Play edition of Sony Xperia Z Ultra based on users' reports, claims a recent post on airingnews. The bug reportedly prevents users from downloading side-loading applications, which mean apps unavailable on Play Store can't be downloaded.
Sony has not commented or acknowledged the problem yet but the Japanese conglomerate is expected to roll out a software patch soon to fix the bugs on the Google iteration of its flagship product.
