Warning: the following contains spoilers for "Game of Thrones."
This season on HBO's "Game of thrones," viewers will get to see characters that haven't graced the screen in years (No, not Robb Stark, sorry). From Hodor and Bran to Yara and Balon Geryjoy, many long lost characters will be making their much awaited comebacks this season. Now, it looks as if one other familiar face will be joining them on screen.
Maisie Williams, who plays Arya Stark, was asked by a fan during a recent radio interview whether or not Rickon Stark, the youngest of the Stark children, will be returning this season. She confirmed that he is indeed coming back.
"Yes, we will indeed [be seeing Rickon again this season]," Williams said. "...Oh no, I'm literally going to get off the air and someone's going to email me!"
Well, there you go.
Williams' admission may have been short on details, but it did confirm that "Game of Thrones" will address this particular loose end. When last we saw Rickon, Osha the Wildling was taking him to the Umbers, who are loyal to the Starks, in the North. However, that was way back in season three. A lot can (and has) happen in the ensuing years. With the Stark family decimated and scattered across the known world, it will be interesting to see how Rickon is re-incorporated into the story. One popular fan theory is that Rickon is the "gift" that one character spoke of when addressing Ramsay Bolton in the preview for this week's episode. While unconfirmed, this theory does make sense.
Art Parkinson, who played Rickon in season three, is now a teenager. It's unknown if he'll be reprising the role. Everyone noticed Isaac Hempstead-Wright's (Bran Stark) growth spurt, so it's unlikely that anyone will care about Rickon's, err, altered appearance.
Along with Rickon and the other aforementioned characters, it has been rumored that Sandor "The Hound" Clegane will also be returning at some point this season. It looks as if "Game of Thrones" is getting the whole band back together.
