Lindsay Lohan Wants to Revive Music Career: Actress Hints at New Music, Collaboration with Jamie Hince

Lindsay Lohan wants to get back into music. The 27-year-old actress has been spending a lot of time at a New York City recording studio in hopes of reviving her music career, TMZ reports. Sources close to the actress said she has not been picked up by a record label yet but that's a major goal for her right now.

Even though Lohan is known for acting she has released two albums in the past - "Speak" in December 2004 and "A Little More Personal" in December 2005. Two of her more well-known songs include "Rumors" and "Confessions of a Broken Heart."

Lohan was previously signed to Casablanca Records but the source told TMZ that she is hoping to sign with a new label and branch off into a new category of music. Previously she stuck to mostly pop songs but now wants to dabble in electronic dance music.

"Lindsay's really embarrassed by [her previous] music, it was really poppy and cheesy," a source told the Daily Record. "She sees herself as far more credible now."

Reportedly the "Mean Girls" star is getting help and advice from artists like The Wanted's Max George and Lady Gaga. She is also said to be working with Kate Moss' husband, Jamie Hince.

"Jamie is one of her idols - she loves The Kills and sees herself as a bit of a rock chick," the source continued.

Lohan has been hinting at her return to music on her Instagram page but hasn't revealed what she's working on and when fans can expect to hear her new sound. The actress has been staying busy since leaving a California rehab facility. Besides working on new music she is said to be writing a tell-all book detailing her life and struggles.
