Rockets center Omer Asik may be dressing as a Houston Rocket for the last time on Wednesday. The afternoon was filled with reports that the Boston Celtics are "gaining traction" in trade talks for the 7-footer, according to Yahoo! Sports. The Celtics reportedly offered Brandon Bass, Courtney Lee and a future first-round draft pick for Asik, who's expected to be dealt sometime tomorrow.
Houston (16-9), meanwhile, likely will be without point guard Jeremy Lin, who's deal with back spasms. All-Star James Harden may also be unavailable after rolling his ankle on Sunday during the Rockets' 106-91 loss to Sacramento, according to ESPN.
"It's very, very painful," Harden said, via ESPN. "I am trying to get through this, stay positive and focus on getting back."
While the rest of the team looks to bounce back after dropping two of their last three games, Chicago is trying to claw their way back into the Eastern Conference playoff picture.
The Bulls (9-14) are a game behind No. 8 seed Toronto after losing all but three of their last 10 games.
"It's not pretty right now," Bulls forward Mike Dunleavy said. "We are battling, we are trying, we just keep coming up short."
With Derrick Rose out, scoring duties have fallen to forward Luol Deng, who has a team-high 19.6 points per game while chipping in on the boards with 7.1 rebounds per game.
