Blake Lively is reportedly leaving her acting career behind to launch a new website. According to The Cut, the 26-year-old actress will soon reveal a "foodie website."
"I'm creating a brand that I felt the need for," she said. "I was on my show ['Gossip Girl'] for so long that I really wanted to break from acting, because it lost its excitement for me in a way, because it was such a job."
"I never lost my appreciation for [acting], though," she continued. "I just felt like I don't have as much to offer because I got used to it. I wanted to explore other passions."
Lively wouldn't reveal much about the website but said that it has been a work-in-progress for the past two years. The "Gossip Girl, who is married to actor Ryan Reynolds. Said she wouldn't classify her website to a lifestyle blog but would include tips for food lover.
The new site has been compared to Gwyneth Paltrow's Goop, a weekly newsletter that focuses on tips for healthy living , yoga and holiday ideas. Paltrow launched the website in 2008.
"I'm still being very vague, intentionally," Lively said. "But I'm really, really excited. By the time it launches, we will have developed it for two years. So it's a lot of time, energy, efforts, resources, working with amazing people."
Even though the two celebrity blogs have been compared to each other Lively insists that they are completely different."
"There's nothing like it out there - it's without genre," Lively said. "I have so many passions outside of acting and things that I grew up being good at and that I don't utilize when acting. Acting was something that my family did so I just kind of into it by default."
