Paul Walker's "Hours" was his final completed film before he died in a car accident on Nov. 30.
Walker takes on the role of Nolan Hayes, a father who is fighting to keep his newborn daughter alive after Hurricane Katrina forces an emergency evacuation. The film hit close to home for the actor, as he was heavily involved with disaster relief efforts with his charity Reach Out Worldwide.
Check out what reviewers had to say about "Hours" and the trailer for the movie below. The film is out now in a limited theater release.
IGN gives the film a 7 out of 10:
"Paul Walker's Hours, written and directed by Eric Heisserer, is worth a watch, if only to see the late Fast & Furious actor's (fully completed) farewell film. His closing performance is solid, and he's working from a suitable, if conventional script. While it takes a little while for the story to stumble out of the gate, the full runtime is plenty short, and the main character makes it easy to invest in his plight."
TheWrap calls Paul Walker's performance "powerful:"
"'Hours' is essentially an extended monologue featuring the actor talking to his newly born daughter about his life, her recently departed mother and his anguish over having lost one and potentially losing the other...'Hours' doesn't have a lot to say about Katrina per se, but it does effectively use the disaster as a compelling backdrop without being exploitative."
RottenTomatoes.com audience viewers certify the film fresh with 62 percent rating:
"Great final Film to an Excellent Actor!!! This film amazed me as I am not normally into this genre. I went in not expecting anything really but by the end I was captivated and really cheering Paul Walker on.
