Shaunie O'Neal has reportedly signed a deal with VH1 for a new reality show, called "The Shaunie Project," that would focus on her life and her children. The show is scheduled to begin filming the first week in January 2014 but Shaquille O'Neal refuses to let their children make an appearance.
Sources told TMZ that Shaunie rushed over to court early in the morning on Dec. 19 to get an emergency order that would allow her to start filming with her kids but her ex-husband is making it very difficult for her.
The source claims that Shaq doesn't want their kids to be featured on the show because of the negative reputation "Basketball Wives" has. Shaunie has tried to convince the retired NBA player that the show will be completely different than "Basketball Wives" and more like "The Cosby Show."
She told him that the show will strictly be about her and the kids explaining that one episode will focus on how she hates to work out and after some conviction from the kids, they all run a 5K race together. Sounds innocent enough, right? Sources said Shaq isn't buying it and thinks the producers will put pressure on the show to add some type of drama.
"He's convinced the show will end up showcasing a dysfunctional family that will hurt the kids, some of whom are already struggling in school," TMZ writes. "Shaq believes no good can come from cameras in the home."
Reportedly he is also a little leery about the reality star because in the past she vowed to keep violence and fighting off "Basketball Wives" but later changed her mind. This season Suzie and newcomer Tasha got into an argument and Suzie and Kenya got into a fist fight. Shaunie is reportedly panicking a little bit because she has to meet certain deadlines for VH1.
