Pokémon Go beta leaks reveal a slew of updates on the augmented reality game's new mechanics particularly those concerning evolution and training.
Despite Nintendo's attempt to crack down on beta gameplay leaks, details of the beta field tests still managed to find their way online. Leaked information noted some changes regarding the Pokémon's training and evolution process, the Inquisitr reported. It is said that Pokémon Go will be time and place sensitive. Capturing Ghastly, for example, should only take place at night and in dark and creepy locations since the Pokémon is a ghostly type.
Another key beta update is the scrapping of Evolution Shards as they are now called 'Candy' in Pokémon Go parlance. In previous Pokémon games, rare candy is an uncommon item which could evolve any Pokémon up by one.
The game will possibly be Nintendo's main highlight in the upcoming E3 event next week. PC Advisor noted that the gaming giant will hold a Q&A session about the game plus a chance to try out the new game for fans visiting the conference.
Meanwhile, here is a summarized list of other Pokémon Go release updates as per Gotta Be Mobile:
1. Pokestops & Gym Locations- real world locations where players of the AR game could pick up items and battle the Pokémon abandoned by their trainers.
2. Trainer Customization- the role-playing AR game allows players to customize their avatar at the start of the game, however, the beta forbids testers to go back and change their character's attributes.
3. Team Colors- for gym battles, players are required to choose either the Red, Blue or Yellow team. The colored groups are like giant territories scrambling for control as many gyms as possible.
4. Pokémon Can Be Trained at Gyms- after a team captures a gym, members can go there to train Pokemons in real-time non-stop battling.
5. Game Limits Training to Physical Area- Trades with other Pokémon trainers can only take place when there are users nearby.
6. Pokestop Items Confirmed- With the confirmation of Max, Revive, Potion, Super Potion and Hyper Potion being available, such items can be acquired at a Pokestop including other non-potion items.
Pokémon Go announcement at E3 is also available via Pokémon Go Live Stream taking place on June 15, 10am PT/1pm ET/ 7pm CET.
