Bethesda Softworks showcased a glimpse of what to expect from Dishonored 2's gameplay. The adventure-packed game features grown-up Emily Kaldwin, the usurped empress bent on uncovering the conspiracy that led to her exile from Dunwall. She will be main playable character along with Corvo, the previous game's protagonist.
In the pre-E3 presscon held at LA Hanger facility, game publisher Bethesda and developer Arkane Studios talked through the game featuring an extended in-game footage and new gameplay trailer of the stealth-FPS sequel.
The discussion touched on a number of topics including the second title's new setting, Carnaca (the so-called 'Jewel of the South'), art direction, dynamic storms, and scope for stealth and combat. In addition, the studio mentioned that Kaldwell's powers in the game are entirely new and can be enhanced through skills trees. Here are some Dishonored 2 insights as per Game Spot:
1. The game will feature two in-game missions. The first one involves the assassination of Carnaca's Vice Overseer featuring conventional and supernatural combat scenes. One interesting maneuver Emily demonstrated was her ability to switch into shadowform and stealthily crawl on the floor before killing an enemy.
2. The other short gameplay flick showed Emily looking through a timepiece which allowed to travel through time. The make-up of the game was all about giving players a wide array of options and explorations through each mission's numerous pathways plus a diverse range of supernatural abilities.
In addition to the abovementioned details, PC Gamer also mentioned that Dishonored 2's live in-game footage also showcased Emily's other powers such as 'Mesmerize', which makes enemies unable to see, detect, or remember her presence. Her other supernatural power includes 'Domino,' which gives her the potent ability to kill selected enemies in the same manner.
Meanwhile, Bethesda also unveiled Dishonored 2's Collector's Edition to cap its E3 2016 press conference. The collector's item includes a bust of Corvo's mask, Emily Kaldwin's ring, a copy of the game, and so on and sets you back $99.99, IGN reported.
