According to previous reports, Rockstar North Developers hinted that London is the best location suited for "GTA" ecosystem. Dan Houser, Rockstar Games co-founder, emphasized some qualities that make the game "Grand Theft Auto" a brand.
"At the moment, it feels like GTA's DNA is contemporary-ish, American-ish, English-speaking-ish, because that's what it has been," Dan House said. "But that doesn't necessarily limit it to those, that's just what we've done so far."
In a separate article, reports pointed that if "Grand Theft Auto 6" is indeed taken out of US and into another country, it would require huge changes. If there is a map change, the production time required will increase exponentially, especially when the new "GTA" map's size is what it claims to make Blaine County and Los Santos map look modest.
Rockstar would not only have allocate time and resources for the development of new map for "GTA 6," but also make siginificant changes that are suitable to the London map, including the vehicle lineup.
This is not the change that will dissuade Rockstar from taking GTA out of US as they had already planned to setup their sixth installment in Tokyo. However, the road system in Tokyo was deemed a problem by the developers and hence the idea of Tokyo was dropped.
Rumor has it that Rockstar will release its "GTA 6" along with PS 5 and Xbox Two in 2020.
