Donald Trump's campaign to become the Republican candidate for the US Presidential elections later this year has without doubt been one of the most extraordinary campaigns in recent memory, considering the odds that he fought against and a large part of the credit must go to his campaign manager Corey Lewandowski. However, in a shock development, Donald Trump has decided to part ways with his controversial campaign manager today. The spokeswoman of the campaign Hope Hicks released a statement in which she stated, "The Donald J. Trump Campaign for President, which has set a historic record in the Republican primary having received almost 14 million votes, has today announced that Corey Lewandowski will no longer be working with the campaign. The campaign is grateful to Corey for his hard work and dedication and we wish him the best in the future."
According to the New York Times, the reason behind his ouster could be based in his poor relations with a variety of people,"Mr. Trump had faced increasing concerns from allies and donors, as well as his children, about the next phase of the campaign as he pivots toward the November election. Two people briefed on the move, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said that Mr. Lewandowski was fired. The campaign manager was seen as having a hostile relationship with many members of the national press corps who cover Mr. Trump, and many officials at the Republican National Committee had strained relationships with him."
A report on Bloomberg states, "Lewandowski's ouster comes after a series of missteps by the campaign as Trump has struggled to pivot from a successful primary campaign to a general election against Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton. It also signals the ascendance of Manafort as a key Trump adviser." It went on to add, "Trump has been facing pressure from within his own inner circle -- including from donors -- who are growing increasingly frustrated with what they see as a lack of coordination and communication, members of Trump's staff told Bloomberg Politics, at a crucial moment in the presidential race."
